    Description

    Rare and original, ca1890’s Figural Countertop Cigar Lighter in the form of an Aladdin’s Lamp. This fantastic, oil fueled Cigar Lighter measures approx. 4 1/4” tall (to the top of the figural handle), 6” long overall and 2” by 1 1/2” at the base. It is made entirely of brass.
    The Lighter features a curved handle with the head of a snake of dragon at the end. The dragon / snake holds a thin brass chain in its mouth that attached to the cover of the font. The Lighter is complete retaining its original font cover and what appears to be its original wick.
    The very attractive, Aladdin’s Lamp Figural Cigar Lighter is in very good condition with no breaks, cracks or damage of any kind. The Cigar Lighter exhibits a rich and warm surface patina but will surely shine up brightly if the new owner wishes to polish it. This type of Figural Countertop Cigar Lighter would have graced the Bar in a 19th century Saloon, the Counter of a 19th century Tobacconist or the smoking room of a Gentleman’s Club or elegant residence.
