I just purchasd this vintage Chinese carved stone brush pot from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece is carved from a single piece of an agate type material which has a rich chocolate color with extensive inclusions in varying shades. The carving (wax resist ?) features a flying dragon design circling the exterior. The piece measures 4 1/2" high and 3" in diameter. The pot is in excellent condition with no damage. This handsome dragon design would make a nice addition to your collection of Chinese stone carvings or vintage Brush Pots / calligraphy ephemeria.
