Scottish Basket Hilt 1828 Pattern Sword 20th Century
This Scottish Basket hilt from the 20th century, probably mid-century or maybe even older.
The multi branch steel basket hilt with leather and cloth liner over the wire wrapped leather grip, the hilt itself if very solid.
The blade is a double edge with double fuller, the riccasso marked at both sides with the Star of Damascus proof mark, the blade with embossing and engraving.
The mouth fitting of the scabbard is missing the screw that holds it in place and is loose, however, overall scabbard is in good condition.
